seam collective's A Visible THREAD exhibition, Black Swan Arts, Frome, Somerset, UK 16 Sept. - 29 Oct 2023

This was the second iteration of seam collective's Arts Council-funded 4-venue exhibition tour in the South West of England. We also did a bonus A Visible THREAD exhibition at Wirth Gallery at Sherborne Girls' School in Sherborne, Dorset in January 2024. The official tour began in May 2023 and will finish at the end of August 2024. It's been wonderful to be part of it.

Challenging myself about sustainability, I knitted a new sculpture Stash, using yarn from a very large stash of yarn that was given to me by a friend. It had belonged to her late mother. I knitted it as a response to the theme of the exhibition, A Visible THREAD. I was very pleased to have the opportunity to install it for the first time at Black Swan Arts. I trialled several ideas and this was how it was finally exhibited:
